Exhibition extended until April 21st 2025!
The “Remote Sensations” exhibition at the Naturkunde-Museum Coburg has already captivated over 7,000 visitors and, due to popular demand, has been extended until April 21,
The world is beautiful – in its simplicity, complexity and vulnerability! That’s the basic finding which motivated us to start the whole project Remote Sensations which now has its own exhibition: currently, it consists out of a total of 26 exhibits. It presents the most appealing images from our collection where almost all of them are produced with an edge length of at least 1m and a modern equal aspect ratio. Accordingly, visitors can experience a visually imposing exhibit!
The exhibition aims to evoke emotions that inspire action. Each image has a scientific context, but “Remote Sensations” is about more than just science; it’s about the emotions that drive us to care for our planet. For example, one image shows the devastating fires in Siberia in 2021, which burned an area the size of Switzerland. Remote sensing data helps us understand and respond to such disasters, highlighting the importance of taking decisive action against climate change.
Our goal is to inform and inspire, not to politicize. We hope visitors will leave with a deeper appreciation for the world and the possibilities of modern remote sensing technologies. Whether for scientific research or personal enjoyment, the beauty and complexity of our planet are worth exploring and protecting.
Thank you for joining us on this journey. We invite you to explore the exhibition and see the world from a new perspective. The world is beautiful, and it’s up to us to cherish and protect it.
